Links with London Irish

During the 2006/2007 season, the junior section has enjoyed a number of activities and events with our local Guinness Premiership Club, London Irish. London Irish squad member conducted a training session for all ages at TRFC. Also the U13s were ball boys for a league match at the Madjaski Stadium and the U10s the Guard of Honour at another of the Exiles home games. Jon Barker, the Junior Section Chairman stated, “These types of activities will occur again this coming season as we get even more London Irish involvement with what we are doing at Tadley RFC with the assistance of our junior sponsor, Pump Technology.”

The London Irish mascot, Digger, has been spotted at TRFC!

....and London Irish coach Pos can be just made out together with Digger and some of the junior section members and junior coaches.

Here are some pictures taken with London Irish Squad members Mike Catt MBE, Dominic Feau’nati and a firm favourite with the youngsters, Topsy Ojo with our very own Jake of the U13s squad.

RFU Seal of Approval

Tadley RFC one of only a handful of clubs in the Hants/Berks area that has achieved the RFU Seal of Approval.
The club has had to evidence its current practice in the areas of, Administration, Development, Duty of Care, Playing Programme & Sports Equity.

Administration: looked at how the club works regarding membership policies, child welfare, use of volunteers and risk management.
Development: looked at how we work regarding development plans, how these were arrived at, resourced and managed.
Duty of Care: looked at how we work regarding membership in both the senior and junior sections, child welfare policy, risk assessment, volunteers and serious accident and injury procedures.
Playing programme: this assessed the clubs fixtures from under 8’s to seniors. The coaching programme was examined including the qualifications each coach holds and the plans to recruit and further develop club coaches in the future. Player development is an important part our plans and the vision of the club is to try and ensure all players get quality coaching relevant to their standard of play and age. Whilst working with schools and colleges to integrate players of all abilities.
Sports Equity: this looked at codes of practice for players, coaches, volunteers and spectators. The seal of approval process allows clubs to review their rules to ensure that the club and the game is open, fair and supports all who wish to take part.
